First Visit
At Freshwater Dental we understand that visiting a new dentist can be daunting, that’s why we want to make sure that your visit is comfortable and enjoyable right from the start.
On the day of your first visit we recommend that you come in 10 minutes early as we will need you to fill out our new patient form. This form asks some questions about your medical history which allows us to tailor your treatment to your individual needs. If you like, you can fill out this form in advance and email or fax it to the practice or bring it with you to your appointment. Click here to download our new patient form.
During your first appointment you will meet your dentist and go over any dental concerns you may have or answers any questions you have about the practice. This is a great opportunity to discuss if you have any dental anxiety. From here your dentist will do a thorough examination and clean of your mouth including:
- Comprehensive examination of teeth and gums
- 2 check up x-rays
- Full mouth panoramic x-ray (if required)
- Professional clean and polish
- Periodontal charting
- Fluoride application
Once complete your dentist will go over any future treatment that may be required. If you are interested in knowing more about any other treatments including cosmetic treatments like whitening and veneers this is also a good opportunity to bring it up.
